Job summary

U.S. Army 2nd Medical Recruiting Battalion seeks a General Surgeon to join a world-class military health care team. You will examine, diagnose, and treat Soldiers and families, and perform surgeries as part of a broad range of specialties.

You will engage in continuing education and collaborate with colleagues while serving on Active Duty or in the Army Reserve. A physician license and board eligibility are required, with training in general surgery successfully completed.

Qualifications

• Must have an MD or DO from an accredited US school of medicine or osteopathy.
• Current license to practice medicine in the United States (US, DC or PR).
• Must be eligible for board certification and completed at least one year of an approved GME internship.
• Must have completed a training program in general surgery.
• U.S. citizen to serve on Active Duty; permanent US residency for Army Reserve.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, consult, and prescribe courses of treatment for Soldiers and their families.
• Perform surgeries and contribute to a wide range of procedures on the Army health care team.
• Engage in continued education, trainings, seminars, and conferences to grow professionally.
• Support humanitarian missions and opportunities for leadership development within the Army Medical Corps.
