Job summary

The U.S. Army Medical Department seeks a General Surgeon to join its world-class military health care team and provide surgical care to Soldiers and their families.

As a General Surgeon, you will examine, diagnose and perform procedures, contribute to research and education, and participate in trainings and conferences to advance medical practice. The Army Reserve option and comprehensive benefits support service and growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold MD or DO from an accredited US medical school.
• Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
• Board certification or eligibility for certification in surgery.
• Completed at least one year of approved GME internship.
• Completed a general surgery training program.
• US citizenship for Active Duty; permanent residency for Army Reserve.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, consult and prescribe courses of treatment.
• Perform surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their families.
• Participate in continuing education programs, trainings, seminars and conferences.
• Collaborate with Army Medical Department colleagues to advance patient care.
