Job summary

U.S. Army 1st Medical Recruiting Battalion seeks a General Surgeon to lead a world‑class military health care team. You will examine, diagnose, consult, and prescribe care, and perform surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their families.

You will participate in ongoing education, trainings and collaborations with peers to advance surgical practice while serving the Army in critical ways.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited U.S. school.
• Current license to practice medicine in the United States.
• Board certification or eligible for certification in general surgery.
• Completed a General Surgery residency and at least one year of GME internship.
• U.S. citizenship to serve on Active Duty; permanent residency for Army Reserve may apply.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, consult, and prescribe treatment for patients.
• Perform surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their family members.
• Lead and collaborate with a world‑class health care team on innovations.
• Participate in continued education programs, trainings, seminars and conferences.
