Job summary

The U.S. Army Medical Corps seeks a General Surgeon to join a world-class military health care team. You will examine, diagnose, consult, and perform surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their families, while advancing surgical care and medical innovation.

Active duty or Army Reserve paths offer leadership training, humanitarian missions, and a comprehensive benefits package including education loan repayment, sign-on bonuses, travel, paid vacation, and family health care.

Qualifications

• Must have MD or DO from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy.
• Foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
• Must have a current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
• Must be eligible for board certification
• Must have completed at least one year of an approved GME internship
• Must have completed a training program in general surgery
• U.S. citizenship to serve on Active Duty
• Permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, consult, and prescribe courses of treatment.
• Perform surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their families.
• Participate in continued education programs, trainings, seminars and conferences to learn and grow.
• Serve in Army Reserve or Active Duty and support humanitarian missions and leadership development
