DC Army National Guard seeks a Food Service Specialist to manage dietary needs for Soldiers and prepare meals in field or fixed facilities. You will learn menu planning, food prep, safety, and sanitation while supporting units during training and at drills.

In this role you will bake, fry, braise, boil and sauté per Army recipes, operate field kitchen equipment and maintain garrison gear. Training pays and benefits include tuition assistance and a GI Bill.

Qualifications

• Enlistment in the Army National Guard is required.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam and sauté as prescribed by Army recipes.
• Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment.
