Job summary

Garnet Health Medical Center Middletown is seeking an Armed Security Officer to safeguard patients, staff and visitors across all hospital facilities, applying established security policies and responding to incidents. You will work with leadership and may supervise Security Officers as needed.

We offer opportunity for growth, crisis training, and competitive hourly compensation. The compensation range is $25.00 -$30.00 hourly, with NYS licensing required and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Criminal Justice or direct five (5) years of direct Law Enforcement/Security experience within a position of responsible charge.
• Active shooter response training course preferred.
• Licensed and Registered with the Armed Security Guard Registry of New York State required.
• Valid NYS Unrestricted (full carry) firearm license required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily safety of the Garnet Health Medical Center hospital community and facilities, including patients, visitors, employees and volunteers.
• Enforce all established Garnet Health Medical Center and Security Department policies and procedures to safeguard personnel and property.
• May provide supervision to Security Officers at the direction of leadership.
• Demonstrate commitment to career growth and the organization’s service culture.
