Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking a Generation Security Officer Armed to ensure the safety of its Corporate Headquarters, generation sites, and critical facilities. The role involves operating electronic security systems, enforcing policies, controlling access, and coordinating with public safety during emergencies.

Eligible candidates will be part of a high-security team responsible for BES protection in the Southeast. Strong readiness, firearms qualification, and post-order compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work shift work, holidays, overtime, during inclement weather, callout and able to work at designated Company location(s).
• Minimum 3 years of law enforcement, military, private or industrial security preferred.
• Must pass prerequisites including psychological test, drug test, initial Firearms Evaluation, and Internal Threat Program.
• Must qualify with semi-automatic firearm and obtain valid state firearm permit and driver’s license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Staff Generation plant sites and provide armed security protection.
• Operate multiple electronic security systems (video surveillance, intrusion alarms, access control).
• Respond to security incidents and coordinate with public safety and emergency services.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain security records.
• Maintain and update knowledge of security policies and procedures.
