Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation in the United States is seeking an Armed Security Officer to provide protective support for a designated site, deter threats, and respond to security incidents with sound judgment. You will monitor access points, conduct patrols, document incidents, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed.

The role requires firearm handling and adherence to safety protocols. Must meet state and company training requirements, including PPSB, and maintain readiness for day or night

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience (Officer I).
• Armed security officer certification or Basic Law Enforcement Training.
• In lieu of an Associate degree and 3 years’ experience, High School/GED with 5 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage electronic access control and visitor management.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarms with assessed actions.
• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols.
• Utilize security systems for intrusion analysis and incident management.
• Generate detailed incident reports and maintain records.
• Coordinate with colleagues and law enforcement during responses.
