Job summary

DK Security is seeking an Armed Security Officer to protect the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, tenants and visitors in Alpena, MI. You will work on a team to control access, perform vehicle patrols, and respond to emergencies while maintaining excellent customer relations.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a current CPL, and the ability to pass drug screening and background checks. This is a full-time, 3rd shift position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067
• Must have a current, valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL)
• Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). Since our company contracts with the federal government, we must comply to federal laws regarding the use of marijuana, regardless of whether it is used recreationally or medicinally.
• May not have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities

• As an Armed Security Officer, you will conduct foot and vehicle patrols dependent on the site location.
• Perform access control to ensure only authorized individuals are allowed entry.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to safety and security concerns.
• Provide excellent customer service when dealing with visitors, staff, and leadership.
• Observe and report activities and incidents at assigned client locations.
• Guard posts at lobbies, gates, reception areas, or control centers.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain communications with clients and operations managers.
