Job summary

Liberty Defense Group is seeking an Armed Security Specialist to maintain a safe environment for clients, employees, and visitors in Missouri. You will patrol, deter threats, respond to emergencies, and document incidents in line with laws and policies.

Role requires firearm handling, professional appearance, and the ability to work long shifts. We offer wages of $19–$21 per hour, licensing sponsorship, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older with legal eligibility to carry a firearm.
• Armed Guard Card & Agent ID or ability to obtain them.
• Firearm, holster and mag pouch – Level 2 or above.
• Prior experience in law enforcement, the military or security preferred.
• Completion of mandated firearms training and pass a background check & drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous security coverage via patrols, posts, and surveillance.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter crime and protect people and property.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and incidents per policy.
• Operate security equipment: radios, CCTV, and surveillance systems.
• Prepare clear, accurate written reports using a computer or mobile device.
• Remain calm and professional during long, stressful or overnight shifts.

Position Overview

The Armed Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to respond effectively to routine and emergency situations while complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous security coverage through foot patrols, stationary posts, and surveillance monitoring during assigned shifts
• Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure safety of people and property
• Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, alarms, and incidents, including running short distances when necessary
• Perform defensive or restraint techniques when required and in accordance with training and policy
• Safely carry, draw, and operate a firearm in compliance with all legal and training requirements
• Maintain alertness and responsiveness throughout long or overnight shifts
• Make sound decisions in high-stress, physically and mentally demanding situations
• Observe, assess, and report suspicious activity using strong situational awareness and peripheral vision
• Operate security equipment including radios, flashlights, surveillance systems, and CCTV
• Prepare clear, accurate, and legible written reports using a computer or mobile device
• Maintain a clean, professional work environment and appearance
• Wear required body armor or protective equipment for extended periods as needed

Physical & Sensory Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
• Ability to sit for extended periods when assigned to stationary posts
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age
• Armed Guard Card & Agent ID - or ability to attain
• Firearm, Holster & Mag Pouch - Level 2 or above
• Prior experience in law enforcement, the military or security preferred
• Must be legally eligible to carry a firearm
• Completion of all state and/or municipal mandated firearms training
• Must pass a federal background check & a drug screen
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed in stressful or emergency situations

What We Offer

• Compensation: $19/hr- $21/hr

• Armed Licensing Sponsorship Program: Liberty Defense Group will cover the upfront cost of your required Armed Guard Card and Agent ID. You will not be required to repay these costs as long as you remain employed with LDG for at least 90 days after completing the licensing process.
