Job summary

Allied Universal® in Houston is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide dependable, flexible hours at a designated site. This role offers $22.00 per hour, with fixed Anchor Shifts and additional shift opportunities through our scheduling platform.

Candidates must hold Level III Armed Certification in Texas, a valid driver’s license, and 3 years of law enforcement/corrections/military or 5 years armed security experience; shifts include DayTime 5:00 PM - 10:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Active Armed Guard Card/License.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks and drug screens as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store team members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of retail sales areas, receiving areas, parking lots, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Maintain required reports and documentation related to patrols, incidents, observations, and assigned equipment.

DayTimeWed05:00 PM - 10:30 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
