Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
• Minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience from a military, law enforcement, or commercial armed guard background.
• Must legally own and possess a registered 9mm semiautomatic pistol or .45 ACP handgun.
• Must possess and maintain an active State Security Guard License for the state of the assigned post.
• Must possess and maintain an active State Firearms License for the state of the assigned post.
• Must maintain current firearm qualifications, first-aid/CPR certifications, and complete annual use-of-force and de-escalation training.
• Demonstrated experience in operating walk-through magnetometers and hand-held detectors.
• Must stand and patrol for extended periods and perform physically exerting duties.
• Must pass USCIS suitability screening and background checks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform continuous access control duties, screening visitors and personnel using magnetometers and hand-held detection wands.
• Conduct regular facility checks, monitor surveillance systems, and ensure security and integrity of the USCIS site.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies and alarms per post orders and plans.
• Document all activities, incidents and security breaches in reports.
• Enforce security protocols for all agency personnel and visitors.
• Maintain proficiency with setup, calibration, and operation of security equipment.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and post orders.
• Coordinate with the partner guard and report to the Regional Security Manager.
