Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY :
This armed position is under the direct supervision of the Manager for assigned high profile site and performs a variety of security-related duties. In this position, you will observe and report activities and incidents at assigned locations, providing for the security and safety of client property, visitors, and personnel.
As an armed officer, you may respond to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response as dictated by the situation and protocol. Additionally, you will assist in preserving order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises; control access to the client site and facility through the admittance process; respond to all situations; monitor entrances and exits; and act to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry.
Some assignments may involve patrolling the assigned site on foot or in vehicle, checking for unsafe conditions such as hazards, unlocked doors, and security violations; protecting evidence or scenes of incidents in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; and preparing logs or reports as requested. Candidates should be prepared for stressful situations.
Given the nature of this assignment, candidates will need to be able to acquire a Secret Clearance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Perform a variety of security-related duties, depending on the posts to which they are assigned. Security guards shall answer questions and provide directions to visitors and building tenants. Typical duties include verifying visitor identities, enforcing property rules and regulations, contacting agency sponsors or escorts, issuing visitor passes, maintaining visitor logs or using automated visitor data systems, detecting and reporting criminal acts, and ensuring visitors are presented for appropriate personnel and package screening. Additional duties include preventing, discovering, delaying, and/or detaining persons attempting to gain unauthorized access to property and/or personnel at the protected facility.
Security guards will be responsible for operating all security equipment on post, such as batons, OC Spray, X-ray machines, magnetometers, CCTV, handcuffs, and firearms where required by post assignment.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Licenses or Certification : Driver's license, Social Security card or birth certificate, and any other relevant certifications (guard/clearance card, gun permit, OC permit, Baton permit, CPR, First Aid).

Depending on location, site assignment, and experience, additional details may apply, including wage ranges ($16.20 - $41.70), potential additional compensation ($1.00 - $3.00), and shift differentials ($0.25 - $1.50).
