Job summary

Allied Universal in Windsor, NC, is seeking a Part Time Armed Security Officer (Perimeter Patrol Driver) to safeguard government locations and patrol facilities while responding to incidents. You will maintain a visible presence to deter threats and support post orders and reporting requirements.

This role requires a valid driver’s license and at least six months of armed security or related experience. The work schedule offers flexibility via our Shift platform and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license is required per Allied Universal policy.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized individuals at a government corrections location by carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and following post orders and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and verify authorization per site procedures.
• Prepare accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.

This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. Job Schedule:

• Fri 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sat 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized individuals at a government corrections location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorization as required, and maintain awareness of inmate movement and facility activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and communicate observations and concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
