Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston is seeking an Armed Security Officer (Part Time) to patrol and protect retail and facility sites. You will provide customer service, deter incidents, and maintain a visible presence.

A valid Texas driver’s license, Level III Armed Certification, and 3+ years of combined law enforcement/military or 5+ years armed security are required. The schedule includes day and evening shifts with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5+ years armed security
• Valid driver’s license required
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas required
• 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Background check as required by law
• Drug screen to be performed where allowed by law

• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and per site protocols
• Conduct regular armed patrols of retail areas and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to store management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years' combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
