Job summary

Parsons is seeking an Armed Security Officer for Vaxcom Services, Inc (a Parsons company) in North Carolina. You will control access, observe for security risks, and respond to incidents on base while adhering to Use of Force policies.

Requirements include a Secret clearance, 2+ years in security or related fields, ability to pass a fitness test, and completion of required certifications and FEMA courses. In-service training is required annually.

Qualifications

• Active or current Secret Clearance required.
• Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have at least two years’ experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections, security or U.S. Armed Forces.
• Must pass annual Physical fitness test (mile-and-a-half run, push-ups, sit-ups).
• Meet minimum qualification standard for NC PPSB certifications for Glock 17, Remington 870, and M-4 Carbine.
• First Aid and CPR training.
• FEMA Courses 100, 200, 700 and 800.

Responsibilities

• Attend 40 hours of In-Service Training annually.

Job Description:

Vaxcom Services, Inc (a Parsons company)is looking for an amazingly talented Armed Security Officer (NC) to join our team!

A secret is required .

What You'll Be Doing:

• Control access to facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel entering the base have the proper identification.
• Responds to situations on base using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established Use of Force Policy.
• Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night.
• Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity.
• Maintains proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems.
• Attend 40 hours of In-Service Training annually.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Active or current Secret Clearance.
• Qualified candidates must possess college or university program certificate; OR two to four years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have at least two years’ experience in either Law Enforcement, Department of Corrections, Security or the United States Armed Forces.
• Must be able to pass an annual Physical fitness evaluation test consisting of a mile and a half run, push-ups and sit-ups.
• Meet minimum qualification standard for NC PPSB Certifications with the Glock 17 pistol, Remington 870 Shotgun and the M-4 Carbine.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.
