Job summary

Parsons is hiring a Senior Airfield Inspector in Raleigh, NC to join our Critical Infrastructure team. The role involves performing inspections to ensure work complies with contract specifications, including soil compaction, concrete work, piping, electrical installations, and safety reporting.

You will prepare QC reports and verify procedures. We seek candidates with an technical degree or equivalent experience and a background on airport construction projects.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints and construction specs.
• 10+ years on airport construction projects.
• Formal certification from an independent organization.

Responsibilities

• Inspect soil compaction, aggregate, concrete slump, and related tests.
• Survey underground piping to ensure tightness and grade; monitor piling installation.
• Validate piping systems with P&ID checks and pressure tests.
• Check reinforcing steel location before concrete placement.
• Inspect electrical installations for grounding and circuit integrity.
• Inspect painting and insulation for thickness and coverage continuity.
• Provide general inspection of construction labor and subcontracted tasks.
• Verify equipment alignment and balancing; draft safety reports.
• Prepare quality control reports and recommend procedural changes.

Parsons is now hiring a Senior Airfield Inspector in Raleigh NC. We are looking for candidates that are local and have worked on the airport in the past.

Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will conduct tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications and may include any of the following: Performs inspections of soil compaction, aggregate, graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, lines and grades surveys, bolt torques, and concrete coring.
• Performs surveillance of underground piping to ensure tightness, bedding, and grade. Inspects and monitors piling installation to ensure location and bearing. Validates piping systems, including P&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressure tests.
• Checks location of reinforcing steel before placement of concrete.
• Inspects electrical installations to ensure proper grounding, circuit integrity, and adherence to statutory and customer regulations.
• Performs continuing inspection of painting and insulation to ensure thickness and coverage continuity.
• Provides general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
• Verifies equipment alignment and balancing operations.
• Administers welder qualification tests.Recommends job safety practices and drafts safety reports.
• Prepares quality control reports and recommends changes to procedures.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in a technical discipline or construction related field and 10+ years of related experience on Airport Construction projects, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required.
• Formal certification from an independent organization, depending on type of inspection assignment.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment.
• Have the potential to perform in a lead capacity.
