Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Pepper Spray Certification is preferred.
• Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and surrounding grounds to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with site personnel and emergency responders as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, helping maintain orderly entry and exit procedures in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.
