Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana seeks a Security Officer to protect patients, guests and employees on hospital campuses. You will enforce safety rules, perform vehicle and building inspections, and help respond to emergencies to ensure a secure environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 1 year of security-related experience, BLS certification, a valid driver’s license, CPI and firearms training, and IAHSS certification within 90 days of hire. EOE.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid driver’s license with clean DMV record.
• CPI training and firearms training.
• IAHSS certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• FTO program completion within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Enforces safety and security rules, regulations, and policies.
• Conducts routine inspections on-site and off-site.
• Investigates incidents and reports findings timely.
• Performs opening/lockdown of buildings as approved.
• Participates in emergency response and drills.
• Maintains annual certifications and training timelines.
• Interact respectfully with patients and staff while protecting privacy.
