Job summary

Allied Universal in Reno, NV is seeking an Armed Security Officer to protect government facilities and other sites. This role offers part-time hours with a fixed evening schedule and a path to full-time opportunities.

You'll provide customer service, maintain a visible presence, monitor access points, and report incidents. A guard card, 6 months security experience, and CPR/First Aid certification are preferred; weekly pay options and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• Must possess an armed guard card or license.
• Armed roles require 21+ years of age.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors and employees at government facilities by following site procedures and access-control requirements.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting hazards or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete daily activity and incident reports accurately and on time.

• Mon: 04:00 PM - 08:00 PM
• Tue: 04:00 PM - 08:00 PM
• Thur: 04:00 PM - 08:00 PM
• Fri: 04:00 PM - 08:00 PM
• Sat: 08:45 AM - 05:15 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at government facilities by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Hold CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
