Borsheims is seeking a full-time Armed Security Officer to join our team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers, employees, vendors, and company assets. The Security Officer provides an armed security presence while supporting daily operations, emergency response, loss prevention efforts, and access control functions throughout the facility.

Job Duties

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, employees, vendors, and company assets.
• Perform security patrols, opening and closing procedures, and staff assigned security posts.
• Monitor CCTV systems and respond to security concerns, emergencies, and safety incidents.
• Greet visitors, manage access control, and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Investigate security incidents and missing merchandise, documenting findings as needed.
• Support cash handling security, merchandise tracking, and other loss prevention activities.
• Assist with employee access control, identification, and security administration.
• Maintain required certifications and provide security support for special events and off-site activities.

Required Experience

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to work assigned schedule on a regular basis.
• Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a clear, concise, courteous, and professional manner.
• Ability to see well enough to observe and evaluate security risks with and without the aid of electronic surveillance systems.
• Ability to hear and speak well enough to converse with others in person, via wireless radio, via telephone and paging system without the aid of electronic amplification.
• Ability to maintain constant state of awareness for extended periods of time.
• Ability to move about the store from department to department, get behind narrow counter areas, bend down or reach up into drawers/shelves and make numerous trips up and down a flight of stairs.
• Ability to maintain weapons certification and safely operate a weapon; ability to maintain certification in CPR, first aid and AED.
• Ability to think under pressure and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Ability to assume a leadership role in making decisions and effectively handling situations.
• Dexterity to write in small print, operate a weapon, operate a CCTV system, operate a computer keyboard, operate office equipment, and handle small jewelry/gift items.
• Stamina to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to wear a uniform at all times. Uniform includes utility belt containing baton, flashlight, service weapon, etc. (weighing up to 25 pounds).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
