As a Armed Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Hospital Patrol in Bakersfield, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $25.00 / Hour

DayTimeMon04:00 PM - 12:30 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, coordinating with appropriate hospital personnel and public responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and support visitor, patient, and staff access procedures while documenting security‑related incidents, observations, and required reports.
• Maintain readiness of assigned equipment and follow applicable laws, policies, and training requirements related to armed post duties.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• Have at least 1 year of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
• Possess a .40 caliber endorsement.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
