Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time, armed Security Officer in Reading, PA. You will patrol and protect client sites, provide exceptional customer service, and uphold security procedures. This role requires Act 235 qualification and PA Concealed Carry Weapons permit if applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of combined experience in law enforcement, corrections, or military service, or 5 years armed security experience.
• Act 235 qualification required for positions in Pennsylvania (PA).
• PA Concealed Carry Weapons permit required if the role involves carrying a firearm.
• Must be 21 years of age or older for armed posts.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies; assist with emergency response when needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter; adapt to varying client-site environments.
• Preserve order, enforce rules, and ensure site viability and safety.
• Maintain proficiency with all assigned protective equipment, restraints, and weapons.
• Greet guests and employees; escort visitors and contractors; secure ingress and egress points and sensitive information.
• Follow site-specific post orders and report safety concerns or breaches; coordinate with client and other security personnel as required.
• Respond to security alarms and emergencies as a first responder.
