Job summary

DK Security, Inc. is hiring an Armed Security Officer for Chesterfield, MI, serving at a military base in Southeast Michigan. The role focuses on protecting buildings, assets, employees and visitors while delivering first-class customer service.

You'll work 2nd or 3rd shift on a part-time basis, perform post guard duties, foot patrols, remote monitor, reports, and de-escalation of incidents. Must meet CPL, 21+, and pass background, drug test, and psychological eval.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old and a Michigan CPL holder.
• Prior armed security experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass background, drug test, and psychological evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Guard posts and perform foot patrols to secure entry points and assets.
• Monitor CCTV and control site access as needed.
• Prepare shift reports detailing incidents and activities.
• De-escalate situations and enforce site rules.
• Respond to emergencies and assist first responders.

Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, fires, and natural disasters, as well as providing outstanding customer service. Observe and Report

SCHEDULE:

• 2nd and 3rd shift Part Time

ABOUT THE JOB:

• Report on time, in uniform, for scheduled shifts.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
• Document activity and duties.
• Follow and enforce site specific post guidelines.
• Specific Duties (Based on Post Guidelines)
• Guard Posts – Static post at access points, doorways, building lobbies, reception areas, etc. Check for employee and vendor identifications. Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Foot Patrols – Walk interior and exterior of the site to check that entrances, doors, windows, and vents are locked and secure against break-ins. Document security, safety, and maintenance issues.
• Remote Monitor – Monitor surroundings on closed-circuit television, allow/deny site access with remote access control.
• Vehicle Patrols – Some sites require driving a vehicle to patrol sections of that site.
• Reports – Computer or paper-based documentation of shift activity, incidents, patrols, or other site-specific reports.
• Communication – De-escalate situations while effectively communicating rules and policies.
• Response – May provide first aid or other medical treatment in emergency situations. Facilitate for First Responders, crime/fire/medical, with emergency situations that may occur on site.
• Other – Duties that may be client or site unique.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older .
• Must be a current holder of a valid, unexpired Michigan CPL.
• Must have prior armed experience in either security, law enforcement, or military roles.
• Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent .
• Must be of good moral character and have the ability to pass a criminal backgroundcheck , with no felony convictions, and no misdemeanor convictions for criminal sexual conduct or related offenses, theft, assault, illegal substances, multiple alcohol related offenses, or crimes of moral turpitude, is required.
• Must be able to pass a psychological evaluation .
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
• Must present a friendly, positive, professional image , adhering to our Appearance and Grooming policy.
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills .
• Must be able to read and write in the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.
• Intermediate computer skills required – Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, and able to learn new software
