Job summary

Platinum Group Security is seeking an Armed Security Officer for a part-time role at our Houston, Texas sites. You will maintain a visible security presence, respond to incidents, and ensure the safety of personnel and property. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Texas Level 3 Security License.

Availability for flexible hours, including nights and weekends, is required. We offer competitive pay and benefits and a path for growth within a trusted security

• Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible professional presence to deter incidents and protect people and property.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms promptly.
• Use customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense situations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when needed.
• Document incidents and observations using approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect premises for risks and report findings.
• Comply with state regulations and armed security licensure requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all state regulations, including maintaining current armed security licensure in Texas.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (minimum of 1 hour).
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be capable of functioning independently and remaining calm in high-pressure or intense situations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Level 3 Security License in the state of Texas.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
• Must have own duty belt and firearm.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Posts will be at one of our sites in Houston, Texas, requiring work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
