About the Role

Precision Security Team is hiring professional, reliable, and highly motivated Armed Security Guards for multiple openings supporting our contract with a government entity. Armed Security Guards are responsible for protecting client personnel, property, assets, and information while maintaining a visible and professional security presence within government facilities.

This role requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Successful candidates are comfortable working independently or as part of a team, adapting to dynamic environments, and responding effectively to security incidents while representing Precision Security Team with professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

Please Note: Precision Security Team provides security services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Schedule flexibility, dependable attendance, and punctuality are essential. PST maintains a zero-tolerance attendance policy. This assignment also requires meeting the client's background screening and grooming standards described below.

Core Responsibilities
  • Monitor and Protect Assigned Properties
  • Monitor facility activity through patrols, surveillance systems, alarm monitoring platforms, and direct observation.
  • Identify, assess, and report suspicious behavior, operational irregularities, safety hazards, and potential security threats.
  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal activity and unauthorized access.
  • Conduct Patrols and Security Checks
  • Perform routine, random, and targeted patrols on foot or in a designated security vehicle.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, parking areas, and restricted locations to ensure compliance with security procedures.
  • Adapt patrol methods based on client requirements and site-specific conditions.
  • Respond to Incidents and Emergencies
  • Investigate security concerns, disturbances, policy violations, and suspicious activity.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques, critical thinking, and sound judgment to resolve situations safely and professionally.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, clients, and supervisors as needed.
  • Manage Access Control
  • Verify identities, credentials, and authorization levels.
  • Grant or deny access according to client policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain the integrity of restricted and secure areas.
  • Maintain Documentation and Communication
  • Complete accurate, detailed incident reports, activity logs, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, visitors, employees, supervisors, and emergency personnel.
  • Utilize smartphones, reporting software, scheduling platforms, Microsoft Office applications, CCTV systems, and other security technologies.
  • Maintain Firearms and Equipment Readiness
  • Safely operate, maintain, and carry firearms, handcuffs, and other assigned equipment in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
  • Maintain required firearms qualifications and training standards.
  • Protect Confidential Information
  • Safeguard confidential and proprietary information related to client operations, technology, equipment, security procedures, and business practices.
  • Exercise discretion and professionalism at all times.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Precision Security Team or the client to meet operational needs.

  • Understands and accepts that this assignment carries strict grooming standards: visible tattoos and facial piercings are not permitted while on duty, and hair, facial hair, and overall grooming must meet a conservative, professional standard consistent with the client’s expectations.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous armed security experience preferred.
  • Military, law enforcement, corrections, or related experience strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records (MVR) review, and drug screening.
  • Must also pass the client’s background investigation, which is required in addition to PST’s standard screening as a condition of assignment to this contract.
  • Possess a current, valid driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record, including:
  • No major traffic violations within the past five years.
  • No more than three minor traffic violations within the past three years.
  • CPR certification preferred or willingness to complete company‑provided training.
  • Reliable personal transportation required. Public transportation and rideshare services are not permitted for firearm transportation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods, often 8–12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to wear and operate a duty belt, exterior tactical vest, and other required equipment throughout assigned shifts.
  • Ability to safely use, maintain, operate, and manipulate firearms, handcuffs, and other issued equipment.
  • Ability to pass the company’s basic defensive tactics skills course.
