Job summary
Savage III, Inc. is an elite executive protection and security services company based in the Los Angeles area, seeking Armed Security Guards for full-time shifts in Palmdale, CA. The role supports railroad security operations, inspects containers and seals, and involves escorting trains and patrols.
Military experience preferred but not required. Open to candidates with active BSIS Guard Card, Exposed Firearm Permit, and CPR/First Responder training.
Qualifications
- Excellent English verbal and written skills required.
- Background in security or related field preferred.
- Valid Driver's License and BSIS Guard Card required.
- Exposed Firearm Permit and 40-hour training strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Enforce Railroad Safety Policies.
- Assist Railroad Police in security operations.
- Deter and detect theft and tampering of containers and shipments.
- Inspect containers, trailers, and gates; ensure seals and security measures are intact.
- Escort inbound trains and conduct foot patrols of designated lots.
- Provide emergency response and coordination as needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Enforce RailroadSafety Policies.
- Assist RailroadPolice in case of a problem.
- Deter and detect burglaries of loaded containers.
- Inspect containers and trailers for any seal exceptions or other discrepancies.
- In case any loaded container or a trailer found without a seal, Security will notify Railroad Police.
- Inspect Inbound and Outbound container trains for missing seals, open container/trailer doors and trespassers.
- Stop and identify all non-employees and all private vehicles driving on the Intermodal Ramp and right of way.
- Deter theft of the company and employee’s property.
- Inspect High Value Shipments.
- Patrol perimeter fences to detect damage and inspect all gates to make sure that they are locked.
- Escort and inspect all inbound trains upon arrival.
- Conduct foot patrol of designated lots as directed.
- Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations.

Position Former/Current Military - Armed Security Specialist
- Military experience (preferred but not required)
- Extensive experience in armed security, with a focus on high-end environments
- Background in military or law enforcement is desirable
- Valid and current
- Driver's License
- BSIS Guard Card
- BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit
- 40-hr Security Guard Training
- Power to Arrest and Terrorism Training
- PC832 a plus
- CPR/First Responder training/certs (preferred)
- Excellent English verbal, comprehension, and written skills – Bilingual is a plus.
- Access to reliable transportation with the ability to arrive to work on time.
- Ability to arrive groomed, clean, dressed and pressed in accordance with uniform standards.
- Basic computer knowledge – i.e.: typing reports, operating basic gate functionality, Word.
- Crowd Management techniques
- Individual Client needs/Sensitivities
- Emergency Egress and evacuation procedures
- Conflict resolution /de-escalation techniques
- VIP Protocol and confidentiality
- Public relations awareness
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%* of the time
- Regularly required to drive,stand, walk, talk, hear, and see (using near vision, far vision, and peripheral vision) to identify and address potential threats or safety concerns
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit while remaining alert to surroundings
- Frequently required to use hands or reach with hands and arms at, above, or below shoulder level for various reasons, including detainment
- May occasionally require lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 pounds
- Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions including severe conditions as seasons dictate
