Job summary

Inter-Con Security is seeking Armed Security Officers to protect government and public service facilities across Los Angeles County. You will maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to security procedures.

Responsibilities include patrolling, responding to incidents, documenting reports, and enforcing access control. Requires valid CA guard card, firearm permit, CPR/First Aid, and background clearance.

Qualifications

• Valid California BSIS Guard Card is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CPR/First Aid certifications and firearm-related permits are required.
• Background screening and security clearance processes will be completed.

• Patrol assigned facilities and surrounding property to identify and address security concerns.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal activity and disruptive behavior.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
• Prepare accurate and timely incident, activity, and investigation reports.
• Monitor facility access and enforce security procedures.
• Provide professional customer service while interacting with employees, visitors, contractors, and the public.
• Assist with emergency response procedures, evacuations, and safety-related incidents.

Position Summary

We are seeking professional, dependable, and service-oriented Armed Security Officers to provide security services at government and public service facilities throughout Los Angeles County. Officers are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and members of the public while delivering exceptional customer service and adhering to all applicable security procedures and regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned facilities and surrounding property to identify and address security concerns.

Work Environment

Officers may work at public-facing government facilities where interactions with employees, visitors, clients, and community members occur daily. The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, strong customer service skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Candidates Must Possess The Following

• Valid California BSIS Guard Card.
• Valid California Driver’s License or California Identification Card.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid Baton Permit and Baton Training Certification.
• Valid Pepper Spray Permit.
• Current Adult/Child/Infant CPR Certification with AED.
• Current Adult/Child/Infant First Aid Certification.
• Current California Firearm Permit and Firearm Qualification Card.
• BSIS Firearms Training Certification.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background screening and security clearance processes.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year of paid armed security experience within the last five (5) years; or
• Equivalent security, law enforcement, military, or employer-provided security training.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment as necessary.
• Must be capable of performing all essential job duties safely and effectively.

Screening & Clearance Requirements

Employment and assignment are contingent upon successful completion of:

• Fingerprint-based criminal background investigation.
• Identity verification.
• Review of required licenses, certifications, and employment documentation.
• Any additional client or site-specific clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in public sector, government, social services, healthcare, or high-traffic customer service environments.
• Military service experience.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Experience de-escalating conflict and interacting with diverse populations.
