Job summary

GardaWorld Security Services is seeking a Tactical Security Officer in the United States. The role focuses on reading environments, anticipating risk, and responding to incidents across diverse locations such as retail settings, airports, and detention centers.

You will patrol and monitor, enforce regulations, and coordinate with law enforcement when needed. The position requires current CT armed endorsement, extensive training, and the ability to stand and walk through shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Applicant must be 21 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CT security license with armed endorsement required.
• Armed experience or background in law enforcement/military preferred.
• Minimum 6 months armed work experience required.
• Pass LEAI assessment with 62%+.
• Pass government-required live-fire testing and NRA course with 80% proficiency.
• Complete HPE evaluation.
• Immunizations up to date.

Responsibilities

• Respond swiftly and professionally to emergencies, disturbances, threats, and potential criminal activity.
• Monitor access points and perform security checks on vehicles and personnel.
• Maintain clean motor vehicle record; may operate a company vehicle.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and security personnel to address incidents.
• Enforce company policies while interacting with the public professionally.
• Provide detailed written incident reports accurately and timely.

As a Security Officer – Tactical, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, detention centers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Respond swiftly and professionally to emergency situations, including disturbances, threats, and potential criminal activity.
• Monitor access points and perform security checks on vehicles and personnel.
• Maintain a clean motor vehicle record, as you may be required to operate a company vehicle as part of your patrol responsibilities.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel as necessary to address incidents or security concerns.
• Enforce all company regulations, policies, and procedures while interacting with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provide detailed written reports, documenting all incidents and observations accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in the U.S.
• You are 21 years old or older
• Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
• You have a state security license (CT state Blue Card) valid armed endorsement
• Each armed employee must either be prior law enforcement officer with a minimum of 5 years experience; or a career military, or in law enforcement(e.g., police, corrections, or federal agencies)
• Have a minimum of six (6) months of armed work experience which may include military and/or law enforcement experience.
• Pass an LEAI Assessment (62% or higher)
• Candidate must pass government-required live-fire testing and meet minimum scores as established by the state of Connecticut.
• Candidate must complete a standard NRA course of fire with eighty percent (80%) proficiency
• Pass standard GWSS employee physical
• Pass modified agility exam to include lifting and moving and flexibility testing. (The Kraus Weber Test)
• Candidate must pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE). HPE is based on agility, walking, running and lifting
• Currently have or be able to attain all necessary immunizations
• Provide personally owned duty weapon (9mm caliber handgun & three (3) magazines of a minimum 10 round capacity
• Complete certification to carry an approved less-lethal alternative. (OC Spray)
• Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Clean motor vehicle record and ability to operate a security vehicle
• Ability to respond to high-pressure situations with professionalism and calmness
• First aid certification is an asset
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
