Kellington Protection Services seeks an Armed School Security Officer to support safety across districts in the Greater Pittsburgh region. This full-time role in Pittsburgh, PA, involves monitoring for security issues, responding to emergencies, and helping maintain a safe learning environment.

Candidates must pass required clearances and trainings including NASRO; ACT 235 Lethal Weapons Training; a high school diploma or equivalent; and the ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass required clearances (ACT 151, ACT 34) and TB test.
• Must complete NASRO and ACT 126 trainings.
• Certification of Physical Fitness required.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with students and staff of schools.
• Handling any escalated security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
• Assisting in de-escalation of children in crisis.
• Responding to altercations on school property.
• Performing perimeter checks, including securing doors and windows.
• Directing traffic on school grounds.
• Building, improving and maintaining relationships with community partners.

Salary Range: $23.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Kellington is seeking dedicated and highly professional Armed School Security Officers (SSOs) for the upcoming academic year. These roles support a safe and positive learning environment across various school districts in and around the Greater Pittsburgh region.

Schedules & Compensation: Start/end times, work calendars, and pay rates vary by district.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete the following clearances (upon hire):

ACT 151: PA Child Abuse

ACT 34: PA State Police

TB Test

Armed Security Officers MUST complete the following trainings (paid trainings):

NASRO

ACT 126 Mandated Reporter

CPR/First Aid/AED

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
