The position requires IAHSS CHSO certification within two years, valid FOID/CCW as applicable, and the ability to handle emergencies with de-escalation skills. Shift Tue-Sat 6:00-2:30; Sundays/Mondays off.

Qualifications

• Security officer certification must be obtained within two years of appointment.
• IL FOID or CCW/armed requirements depending on location.
• Background, drug screen, medical/psych evaluation as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provides security with a customer-service approach, following policies and training.
• Maintains professional appearance and uniform; supports staff and visitors.
• Patrols interior/exterior areas to identify hazards, fire risks, and security issues.
• Responds to violence or threats; handles service calls involving patients or visitors.
• Uses de-escalation; may use CEW/handcuffs when necessary.
• Responds to emergencies; documents incidents with timely reports.
• Liaises with law enforcement and conducts security education for staff.
• Maintains training in radio communications and safety procedures.
• Assists with traffic control, parking, and crowd management.
• Patrols with a community-oriented approach.
