BTI Security is accepting applications for Full-time and Part-time Armed Protective Service Officers (PSO) in South Carolina. This is an Essential position. We seek highly professional security officers dedicated to protecting our sites, staff, and clients. A referral bonus of $250 is offered for the FPS SC contracts, payable after the new hire completes 90 days of probation.

Job Skills / Requirements

• Patrol and monitor exterior and community areas.
• Control access at entrances and exits for employees and visitors.
• Monitor surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents.
• Operate magnetometers and X-ray machines effectively.
• Use communication devices like two-way radios clearly and concisely.
• Leverage excellent listening and service skills in emergency responses.
• Perform CPR or first aid as needed.
• Maintain credentials as per contract requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors or project managers.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces.
• Valid Social Security Card.
• Verifiable experience and education:
  • At least 2 years of armed security experience or 1 year of law enforcement experience, or
  • 2 years of honorable service in the U.S. Armed Forces, or
  • High school diploma or GED.
• Fluent in English reading, writing, and speaking.
• Strong security industry knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Customer service mindset.
• Proficiency in firearms, OC spray, baton, and First Aid/CPR/AED training.

Physical Demands

• Perform tasks requiring physical ability.
• Frequent walking, standing, sitting, and stooping for up to 12 hours.
• Remain alert and react quickly to emergencies.

Education & Certification

High School Diploma/GED; DHS Suitability; National Weapons Detection; OC aerosol spray; Baton; Handcuffing; Weapon training; CPR/First Aid.
