BTI Security is accepting applications for Full-time and Part-time Armed Protective Service Officers (PSO) in South Carolina. This is an essential position. We seek high-caliber security officers who demonstrate professionalism and a strong commitment to protecting our sites, staff, and clients. We are offering a referral bonus of $250.00 for the FPS SC contracts; the bonus is paid after the new hire completes a 90-day probation period.
Job Skills / Requirements
- Patrolling and monitoring exterior and community areas on premises.
- Controlling access at entrances and exits, including the departure of employees and visitors.
- Monitoring surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities.
- Providing detailed reports on daily activities and incidents.
- Operating magnetometers and X-ray machines effectively.
- Using communication devices such as two-way radios clearly and effectively.
- Exhibiting excellent listening and service skills during emergency responses and evaluations.
- Performing CPR or first aid when needed.
- Maintaining credentials as per contract requirements.
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors or project managers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident, with verifiable honorable discharge from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Possess a Social Security Card issued by the SSA with your name and SSN.
- Have verifiable experience and education, such as:
- At least two (2) years of armed security experience or one (1) year of law enforcement experience with a full-duty police department.
- Or, at least two (2) years of honorable service in the U.S. Armed Forces.
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend, including report writing.
- Strong knowledge of the security industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information at all levels.
- Proficiency in firearms (pistol), intermediate weapons (OC spray, baton), and First Aid, CPR, AED training is required.
Physical Demands:
- Physically capable of performing assigned duties.
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, and stooping for up to twelve hours per day, indoors or outdoors.
- Ability to stay on post for up to four hours without breaks.
- Remain alert for up to 12 hours and react quickly to emergencies.
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Certifications include DHS Suitability, National Weapons Detection Training, OC aerosol spray, Baton, Handcuffing, Weapon Training, CPR/First Aid, among others.
