Qualifications

• Six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Criminal histories may be considered in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and public while following site-specific procedures and security policies at a government corrections location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas; report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and document activity per post orders.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and professionally; notify appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear incident reports and logs, maintaining a professional presence to deter unauthorized activity.
