Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with 1 year of specialized training beyond high school.
• State of Delaware Constable License required.
• Minimum 1 year security or law enforcement experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate hospital vehicles.
• Criminal background and MMPI testing required.
• Constable certification and Taser certification required.
• CPR and AED certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital buildings, stairwells, and grounds by foot or vehicle to ensure security and safety.
• Investigate and report unlawful or unsafe activities within hospital and contiguous properties.
• Use non-violent verbal de-escalation to mitigate disruptive behavior and separate combative individuals.
• Provide first responder assessment of threats to staff, patients, and families.
• Conduct drills for fire, evacuation, and emergency management as required.
• Manage hospital access control and enforce visitor restrictions.
