Job summary

Allied Universal in Columbia, SC seeks an Armed Security Officer for Hospital Access to safeguard patients, staff and visitors. This driving role requires a valid driver’s license and involves patrols, access control, and incident response in a healthcare environment.

You will deliver customer service, report incidents, and maintain clear documentation while upholding Allied Universal’s values of integrity, teamwork, and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Armed guard card/license preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Background check required by federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while following site procedures and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as needed, report suspicious activity or hazards.
• Complete detailed reports and maintain documentation regarding incidents, patrols, and observations.
