Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors and to respond to emergencies within the facility. You will de-escalate critical events with sound judgment and coordinate with first responders.

Responsibilities include safeguarding property, enforcing safety policies, and maintaining composure while handling combative or escalating individuals in accordance with Piedmont's procedures.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in general security or public safety, with firearm carry requirement or equivalent training.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening and maintain all required certifications.
• Must possess and maintain firearms, Taser, and baton training as directed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for routine safety and emergency security activities to safeguard people and property.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• Safe de-escalation of critical events and use of sound judgment with combative or escalating subjects.

Education

Driver License

IAHSS Security Officer Certification

Carry non-lethal weapons (Taser)

Firearms Certification

POST Certification Preferred
