Job summary

D.M. Burr Security seeks a Part-Time Armed Security Officer for the Dort Financial Event Center in Flint, MI. You will work 25–30 hours weekly across 2nd shift and weekends, securing events such as hockey games, concerts, and basketball games.

Responsibilities include gate control, bag screening, crowd management, and emergency response. A valid Michigan CPL and background check are required; previous security or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and licensing/training required.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must possess a valid Michigan CPL for armed positions.
• Prior security, event staff, or customer service experience preferred.
• Calm, professional demeanor in large crowds and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances/exits, verify tickets and credentials.
• Conduct bag checks or screenings as required.
• Patrol venues and deter disturbances.
• Provide crowd management and orderly lines.
• Assist in safe evacuations during emergencies.
• Respond to incidents quickly and professionally.
• Liaise with staff, law enforcement, or emergency services.
• Deliver customer service and directions to attendees.
• Complete clear incident reports.
• Remain vigilant and follow venue policies.
