Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Armed Access Control Security Clearance officer in Houston, TX. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and provide professional customer service for a government location, while maintaining logs and reports.

The role requires an armed guard card, DoD Top Secret clearance, and a minimum age of 21. Training, background checks, and licensing compliance are part of the process. Eligible for our shift-based, flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Armed guard card or license.
• College degree required.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Minimum age 21 for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions if applicable.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, maintain visitor logs, and direct authorized individuals according to established entry and exit procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report security-related concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to visitor activity, incidents, access control, and daily operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a college degree.
• Possess an active Department of Defense Top Secret clearance.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
