Responsibilities

Assist the Chef de Partie with daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in designated work areas.

Examples of duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Prepare mise-en-place in advance: review recipes, check and measure ingredients, wash, chop, and organize ingredients, and prepare necessary equipment.
  2. Handle food according to HACCP guidelines.
  3. Check and clean refrigerators, trolleys, utensils, and kitchen equipment daily.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area.
  5. Use leftover food items efficiently to minimize wastage under supervision.
  6. Retrieve products from stores following HACCP guidelines and company policies.
  7. Assist with daily inventory and requisitions, providing par levels to the Chef de Partie.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, sanitation, chemical handling, fire procedures, and HACCP.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation.
  • Ability to work effectively with management, staff, and guests.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume, multi-unit operations is a plus.
