Job summary

Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) maintains a diverse fleet of vehicles and specialized equipment at Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN). The role performs mechanical maintenance, diagnostics, welding, and preventive tasks on gas, diesel, and alternative-fuel systems, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will work under minimal supervision, ensure timely repairs, and support emergency response readiness for airport

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalency and technical training in gas/diesel/alternative fueled equipment.
• Experience with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automotive and specialized equipment.
• Familiarity with FAA FAR Part 139 ARFF apparatus standards and EVT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a diverse fleet, including public safety vehicles and ARFF equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, replace, and repair drive trains, brakes, suspensions, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Weld and fabricate metal as required and operate various mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Maintain records, schedule warranty work with vendors, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
