Job summary

The Facility Attendant I at Bismarck Parks and Recreation District provides public safety and recreation at an indoor hockey arena and outdoor pool, enforcing policies and assisting patrons.

You will help supervise the facility, assist during events, manage payments and equipment, perform cleanup, and support opening and closing of outdoor pools and arena areas.

This part‑time, on‑site role requires a 14‑plus age and a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 14 years of age.
• Must have a flexible schedule as the position will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds alone or heavier with other employees.
• A current CPR/AED certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patrons on ice and pool areas and collect payments.
• Assist staff during games, tournaments, and events with setup and cleanup.
• Maintain arena oversight during general facility hours.
• Enforce BPRD rules with firmness and tact.
• Attend safety and staff meetings.
• Shovel and spread salt on sidewalks and entrances when opening and as needed.
• Prepare outdoor pools to open/close.
• Assist with arenas and outdoor pools buildings and grounds maintenance, as applicable.
