Job summary

The Sanford Center in Bemidji, MN is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to lead the cleaning and housekeeping team for arenas and convention spaces. You will oversee staff, schedules, inventory, and event-based cleanings to ensure top cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include training, inspections, reports, and collaboration with operations and security. Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in facilities management, hospitality, or related field is preferred.
• 2–4 years of supervisory experience in custodial, janitorial, or environmental services, preferably in sports/entertainment venues.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards and industrial equipment; strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities; capable of motivating diverse teams.
• Experience with scheduling software and basic computer apps (MS Office, Outlook, Excel).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.

Responsibilities

• Supervise EVS staff in daily and event-based cleaning operations.
• Develop and maintain staff schedules for routine and event-driven work.
• Inspect facilities before and after events to ensure cleanliness standards.
• Train and coach team members on safe cleaning practices.
• Manage inventory of supplies, chemicals and equipment; coordinate orders.
• Monitor safety protocols and proper handling of cleaning agents.
• Respond to service requests during events and day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with facilities, maintenance and security for cleaning needs.
• Assist with event set-up and post-event cleanup for rapid turnover.
• Prepare reports on staff performance and supply usage.
