Job summary

Houston Rockets -- Toyota Center is seeking a Building Carpenter to perform diverse maintenance and carpentry work across the Toyota Center facilities. The role covers custom wood projects, repairs, and facility improvements to support events and operations.

The candidate should have at least 5 years of carpentry experience, familiarity with arena environments, and welding experience is a plus. Strong communication and ability to supervise a crew are important for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 5 years carpentry experience.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Experience in arena/facility maintenance preferred.
• Willingness to work long hours including nights and weekends.
• Good communication, management and supervisory skills.
• Familiar with MS Office and electronic work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, construct, rebuild, install, repair and maintain woodwork and related structures at Toyota Center.
• Read blueprints, sketches and drawings; work to specified standards.
• Operate power tools, planers, hand tools and other required machinery.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for special woodworking projects.
• Supervise assigned staff and train team members.
• Maintain safety and quality control practices.
