Job summary

The Houston Rockets are seeking a Building Carpenter to support Toyota Center maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements. You will work on woodwork, structural components, and hardware installations to ensure a safe, professional environment for athletes, staff, and guests.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of carpentry experience, arena facility familiarity, and the ability to work varied hours including nights and weekends. Strong organizational and supervisory skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years Carpentry experience.
• Familiarity with multi‑purpose/arena facility preferred.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Ability to work long and varied hours including nights and weekends.
• Good communication, management and supervisory skills.
• Must be very organized, flexible, personable, and able to take direction.
• Operate standard office equipment and computers using MS Office
• Understanding of electronic work order systems and familiar with review, creating notes, close-out of work orders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, construct, rebuild, install, repair and maintain woodwork and related structures at Toyota Center.
• Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the carpentry field.
• Perform other general repairs/maintenance as required. Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties.
• Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to state and federal code requirements and reports back to supervisor.
• Proficient knowledge to measure, square, and prep rough openings for commercial hollow metal, steel, or wood frames; install hinges, locksets, closers, and hardware.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and drawings; perform work to specified standards.
