Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a senior leader to guide its Transportation Business Group across the Phoenix area and neighboring markets. You will shape growth, drive programs for innovation, and ensure operational excellence while expanding HDR’s presence with public and private transportation clients.

The role requires a bias for quality, active industry involvement, and the ability to lead diverse teams across multiple offices, fostering collaboration and delivering high-impact projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• A minimum of 10 years experience.
• Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams.
• Active engagement in professional or industry associations.
• Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead HDR’s Transportation Business Group by developing, implementing, and maintaining programs supporting growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Drive strategic growth initiatives and identify new opportunities across key transportation markets.
• Foster collaboration across offices and disciplines to promote integrated project delivery.
• Build and empower a high-performing team through recruitment, mentoring, and succession planning.
• Cultivate strong client relationships serving as a trusted advisor to transportation agencies, municipalities, and industry partners.
• Oversee transportation services to ensure high quality, innovative solutions and client satisfaction.
• Monitor performance and implement improvements for efficiency, project delivery, and profitability.
• Represent HDR through industry involvement and community engagement.
