Job summary

UNC Health Nash seeks area techs to maintain clean, sanitary hospital environments across Nash counties. These roles do not provide direct patient care but ensure rooms and spaces meet high standards of hygiene and safety.

As a full-time on-site position, you will clean patient rooms, discharge areas, and support spaces, enter data into bed tracking, and assist in training new staff, contributing to a safe and welcoming hospital for patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, to include MSDS sheets, policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Cleans (dusts, disinfects, mops, restocks, pulls trash and inspects) occupied patient rooms
• Cleans discharge rooms in a timely manner for incoming patients
• Cleans support areas and critical care areas such as nurses stations, lounges, intensive care units and isolation rooms
• Enters data into the bed tracking system.
• Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects.
• May serve as a team leader who plans and schedules tasks, makes work assignments, trains staff, controls bed tracking and inspects all areas throughout the hospital.
• Strip, wax, dust mop and damp mop floors. Vacuum, bonnett and extract carpets.
• Trains and instructs new area techs in proper hospital policies and procedures.
