Role Overview

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific store area, overseeing operations, supervising associates, and acting as the Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring a clean, friendly shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety & Security: Maintain a safe environment, control access, check safety systems, and respond to alarms.
2. Customer Service: Treat customers and staff with respect, demonstrate professionalism, and recognize team members.
3. Store Brand & Maintenance: Uphold company appearance standards, keep areas clean, and manage merchandise and back stock.
4. Merchandising & Loss Prevention: Ensure proper merchandising, reduce damages, and follow loss prevention protocols.
5. Front End Operations: Oversee checkout processes, train staff, and manage customer flow.
6. Fitting Rooms & Administrative Duties: Maintain cleanliness, audit garments, and handle administrative tasks like deposits and payroll.
7. Competencies: Manage work processes, build talent, communicate effectively, and ensure accountability.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
• Prior supervisory and customer service experience preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical & Other Requirements

Ability to use store equipment, stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in various physical positions. Stockroom roles may require lifting over 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.
