Position Overview
The Area Supervisor is responsible for a specific assigned area of the store and performs general store operations while serving as Manager on Duty. Duties include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly environment, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and executing company operational processes.
Essential Functions
- Open and close store, including security and timekeeping.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment; monitor sales floor and report unsafe conditions.
- Supervise store security, including entrance control, electronic article surveillance, cash office, and armored carrier pick‑ups.
- Ensure customer safety, accident prevention and reporting, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and merchandising of the store per company standards.
- Perform general merchandising tasks: sizing, markdowns, receiving, processing merchandise and non‑merchandise deliveries, stocking and floor moves.
- Manage loss prevention awareness program, conduct inspections and use PVM system.
- Supervise front end operations: train and coach associates, maintain pace, handle cash registers, shortages, and back‑hand processing.
- Oversee fitting room maintenance, tag audits, and return processing.
- Complete administrative duties as assigned: cash pulls, bank deposits, payroll reports, scheduling, register control, and refund approval.

Qualifications and Special Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills for retail.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Use store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC).
- Stand, walk, and move up to 100% of working time.
- Frequently bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, lift more than 25lbs; stockroom shifts may require >20lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.

The base pay range for this role is $20.20 - $20.70 per hour. Compensation includes additional rewards and benefits based on location and role.
