Overview

Ross is a leading off‑price retail chain with more than 2,200 stores nationwide and a strong track record of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Area Supervisors are responsible for day‑to‑day store operations, supervising associates, and ensuring safety, security, and customer service excellence.

  • Store Operations: Open and close the store, manage front‑end and back‑office functions, and maintain a clean, organized environment.
  • Safety & Security: Maintain awareness on the sales floor, secure entrance/exit control, monitor EAS devices, and respond to fire alarms.
  • Customer Service: Treat all customers and associates with respect, demonstrate courtesy, and recognize associate achievements.
  • Merchandising & Loss Prevention: Oversee receiving, processing, and merchandising of products; conduct “Code 50” inspections and enforce loss‑prevention policies.
  • Front End Supervision: Execute best practices, train associates on cash registers and shortage control, and manage the register line.
  • Fitting Room Management: Ensure fixtures are clean and tags are accounted for, and that all returns are correctly processed.
  • Administrative Duties: Handle cash pulls, deposits, register controls, payroll administration, and other tasks assigned by the store manager.

Qualifications & Special Skills

Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC)
  • Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time
  • Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift >25 lbs; stockroom shifts may require >20 lbs
  • Use janitorial equipment, rollers, ladders, and other supplies
